Just got my passport, so I thought I'd try it out. I was going to take Amtrak to San Diego and the trolley to the border, but Greyhound/Crucero is about an hour faster each direction (and about half the price). No map today, the route was too random.

Walking in Tijuana is a lot more hazardous than walking in L.A., between the sudden dropoffs and holes in the sidewalks and the drivers who seem to have even less respect for traffic laws than drivers in the U.S.

Other comparisons - there are more areas in Tijuana that smell bad, and I think on average the Mexican food is a lot better in L.A.
